Lennon–McCartney (sometimes McCartney–Lennon) was the songwriting partnership between John Lennon (1940–1980) and Paul McCartney (born 1942), members of the British rock band The Beatles. Between 1962 and 1970, the two musicians were jointly credited for 180 songs, most of which were recorded by the Beatles.
