Born in Montreal, jazz singer John Labelle grew up listening to classic vocalists such as Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney and Frank Sinatra. In 1995, Labelle produced his first album, "If You See Her," which released on his own label. More albums have followed, including "Too Close For Comfort" (2003) and "Last Time I Was Here" (2007). Since 1998, Labelle has continued to hone his craft while touring on three continents. A few of his many shows and appearances have included performances in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing. Early in February 2005, Labelle performed at the Smithsonian Jazz Café in Washington, D.C. He also has made television and radio apearances, including several spots for Black Entertainment Television.
