John Duff is a new up and coming independent artist from Baltimore Maryland, and the youngest of four kids. John claims that it was his older sisters who influenced him into the music he grew to like. He recalls being a toddler riding in their car listening to Notorious BIG, Ace of Base, Mariah Carey, the Temptations, Wayne Newton, Michael Jackson, just to name a few. Love for music came from an early age for John who started performing at eight years old, impersonating icons such as Elvis and Frank Sinatra. John’s starting point was a love of performing through music theater, from high school to working in New York as an actor in musicals. John is a creative person who writes his own songs and brings the references of what he wants the songs to sound like. He also lays out what each video is going to be like from start to finish—what it looks like, what the colors are, he styles and cast most of his videos and works with his editors and he also markets everything himself. John says that straight artists are getting so much attention from queer media and feels gay artist are not getting the same attention. So, in his single, “Somebody’s daughter” John is looking to go outside the box of what’s new now incorporating a straight theme vibe in his latest song to see how things will go. John likes to march to a different beat and wants to attract that attention from others through his music. He’s done a few recent gigs and is working on other projects; his latest song is Gravit
