After many years backing up and producing other stars, at the turn of the new century John decided to focus on himself as an artist, starting with solo piano gigs, and forming the trio “The Autin Packing Co.”. Soon John began working the finest piano rooms in New Orleans. In April 2003, the Hotel Monteleone contracted John to play the Carousel Lounge, New Orleans oldest and most prestigious solo piano room. Playing Jazz standards, New Orleans Piano, Blues and requests, John entertained audiences here until May of 2011. With the release of his new CD Piano Town in the same month John took off for engagements around the country and around the world, from Rome Italy to Costa Rica and Panama. The year began with John being awarded Best Music/ Score for the new feature length animated film “The Magistical” for the North Carolina based award winning Out of Our Minds Productions. John has produced and released 3 new CD’s for Rabadash Records. One for 15 year old pop singing sensation Lindsay Mendez, one for New Orleans Blues legend Big “Al” Carson, and the 3rd for Award winning Acoustic Blues man Big Daddy ‘O’ , all the while keeping up with his tough performance schedule. John’s second studio CD, as a front man,” Piano Town” features him on Steinway Piano and singing. Backed by New Orleans finest musicians, tracks were cut with New Orleans musical greats Herlin Riley and Roland Guerin, and a host of other musical talent at the world class Axis Studios. www.axistudio.com Piano T
