John Anthony Mathewson was the founder of the "Broken Notes" name. Although the projects were well under way by the time of his entry into the fray, they bore the name "Silent Hill Fan Soundtrack". It was Mathewson who gave "Broken Notes" their name as it is now known. "Broken Notes" are a group of online music makers who create music inspired by Akira Yamaoka.
