Born 1938 in London the son of Italian imigrants John Andrews Tartaglia studied at the London School of Music before going on to conduct the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 29, making him the youngest conductor of his time. He later co-wrote the theme to the 70s sitcom 'Heaven Sent' and musical interludes for several adverts.
