1N was founded in Helsinki by two musicians, Pekka Rautio and Sampo Haapaniemi, back in 1998. Johanna Iivanainen joined the band as a vocalist and Niko Kokko as a bass player the same year. 2002 Jukk Heikkinen joined the band. Their first single, "Ameeba", was released in 2003. Their debut album, "Retki" (Journey, in English), got released on November 2003. On March 2006 they released the next album "Niin kuin muut". Their style has changed a lot during their career and on their album "Outoja maita", which was released on May 2008, the sound is almost acoustic.
