Johann Friedrich Gottlieb Beckmann was a German organist and composer; b. Celle, Sept. 6, 1737; d. there, April 25, 1792. He pursued his career in Celle, where he was highly esteemed as an organist. He wrote an opera, Lukas und Hannchen (Braunschweig, 1768), six harpsichord concertos, 12 keyboard sonatas, and piano pieces.
