Johann Joseph Anton Bernhard Kobrich (baptized May 30, 1714 in Landsberg am Lech; died August 9, 1791 there) was a German organist and composer. The son of the organist of the Landsberg parish church Maximilian Adam Kobrich († 1730) succeeded him at the age of 16 and held this position until his death. After his wife died in 1782, he turned to theology and was ordained a priest. He wrote a large number of piano and organ works, as well as Masses, Litanies and Vespers. A number of his works were printed in Nuremberg and Augsburg and were widely distributed in Central and Eastern Europe. The only son, born in 1735, continued the organist tradition at the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche . User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
