Artist
Joey Moroney was born on May 12, 2004, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He grew up in a small town in West Virginia, beginning his music career at the age of 5. His first single “The Moon Child” was released on his 19th birthday, and officially began his career as a recording artist. Joey’s musical influence ranges between many artists and genres, but most notably include Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, Melanie Martinez, Ethel Cain, Troye Sivan, Ariana Grande, BENEE, and Runo Plum. The main genres of his music are indie, alternative, art pop, and dream pop, usually with an atmospheric and cinematic flair. Joey’s music is also heavily influenced and reminiscent of nostalgia and emotion, creating timeless art that is easily resonant with the listener. As a Pisces moon (with the likes of SZA, Michael Jackson, Prince, and Sabrina Carpenter), his music is also revolutionary and refreshing to the art form, in most cases never fitting into one box or category.
