As you may have figured out by now, my name is Joey, and I make music. This has been true for most of my life actually, especially the part about being named Joey. Both of my parents have always been into music, so naturally I became interested as well. At a very early age, I was introduced to the sound of pianos, singing and guitars regularly filling up the quiet spaces of our house. Mom was always working on new songs and practicing for church, while Dad was messing with his harmonicas and playing boogie-woogie piano. Mom taught me to speak from my heart and Dad taught me to have fun. I first became interested in the idea of recording and playing back music at age 9 when my Mom let me borrow her old keyboard and an old-school beat machine(mainly used for time keeping). Both instruments allowed you to record short musical phrases and play them back. When I finally learned how to do this I would lock myself in my room for hours making the silliest things you'd never hear. At that point I became completely hooked on producing music. Throughout high school, I would continue to learn about recording through various software programs that surfaced among my friends. Going in and out of different bands as a guitarist, bassist or keyboardist, I also learned a great deal about different styles of music that we were all listening to.
