Artist
Delivering a welcome dose of R&B-pop to the MC-laden homegrown scene, Mancunian Jodie Connor is the voice you will have heard on Roll Deep's number one smash 'Good Times'. Her fans include Chipmunk and Tinie Tempah, but it was a few years back that Soul II Soul's Jazzie B began to nurture Jodie's talent, introducing her to professional studios and the art of good song writing. She moved on to form a girl group and it was during a brief stint of recording with them in America that she met her musical soul mate, producer Dawood (Roll Deep's 'Good Times'), with whom she's been harnessing and developing her sound. After building her profile in the club scene with dance tracks including 'Love Of My Life' and the bassline smash 'Reason', Jodie took a break to focus on the pop sound she'd increasingly grown to love. It was in 2009, after a friend arranged a meeting with Wiley at a flat in Manchester, that the goalposts really moved and Jodie's master plan began to take serious shape. Within three months of playing the Godfather of Grime her body of work (an archive of hundreds of tracks), together they created the club hit - 'Electric Bugaloo'.
