Joanna Botmang's style is jazzfusion. It is soul and blues flavoured easy-listening meets tribal drum 'n' bass. Joanna's voice spells vocal jazz ...seducing many a patron of salon and lounge with her luscious interpretations. Her soulful renditions will make you dream and sway to the beat. But most of all, her cristal clear tone, near faultless phrasing, intonation and seemingly effortless and personal delivery of each song will forever remain etched in your memory. Joanna has been musically influenced by Billie Holiday, Sade and Whitney Houston (notice the physical resemblance with the latter). Joanna was born in Jos, Nigeria on the 9th of April 1972. After studies in Mass Communiation and Linguistics in Nigeria, and also establishing herself as a quality artiste performing as a regular feature in Nigeria's 5 star hotels and other prestigious venues and events in Nigeria's capital city, Abuja. While attending the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique in Perpignan, France and after two years of studies in vocal technique, she started work as a gospel choir director with the Casa Musicale. She also recently studied music production at Richmond, in the greater london area. Joanna remains true to the rythmn of her origins.
