Joan Of Arse were a band from Dublin, Ireland. Initial members were Jeanne D'Arse aka The Bearded Lady, Asteroid and JG Gollier. This lineup recorded a cassette entitled 'The Big Band Sound Of The Big Band Sound' in 1997, a 10" on Julius Geezer records called 'Le Remusement Triste et Lent de la Queve d'un Vieux Chien' in 1998 and 'Lost At Sea' on Julius Geezer & Scientific Laboratories in 1999. After a line-up change, the band recorded 'Distant Hearts, A Little Closer' in 2001 at Electrical Audio studios in Chicago, releasing it on the same 2 labels in Europe and Flameshovel Records in the US. Two unfinished LPs 'Mating Under The Gallows' and 'How I Learned To Sing Like An Angel' may at some point emerge.
