João V. Bessa is a brazilian singer and songwriter, born on sep 2nd, in Cordeiro, a small country-side town from Rio de Janeiro state. He's first work, called "Dreams to ashes" was released on late November 2021, including three songs. These three songs were created during the pandemic and, for these versios, are arranged for nylon guitar, eletric guitar and voice. The recording sessions took place in São João del-Rei, Brazil, late may. The first track "The persistance of memory" is a tale about the losts we accumulate in life, the end of cicles and stories. But, in other hand, it's a tale about the forces of time and nature that guide our fates, forces which are beyond human control. And, so, it's in the Memory where every living thing or being remains. "Boa constrictor" evokes heavy thoughts and memories for it's a song about grief and sickening: mental illnesses that take away your pride, transform your body language and invade your dreams. They insist on staying. The inspiration for writing the song "The love from underground" came from Dostoievski's novel, published in 1864. "That storie lead me to think on what I carry down deep inside of me, traumas and memories which remain secret, but form a important part of myself", he says.
