It is the dead winter of 2000 keeping warm inside a quiet suburban house residing in Fairfax, VA, are three high school boys no older than fifteen, setting up their Tascam 4-track with a series of microphones hovering over the drum set. Lacking more microphones, however, the boys plug their guitars directly in to a PA. They press record; four minutes later, Jinxed at Twelve had their first song. Fast forward to 2006, and the boys that comprise Jinxed at Twelve (founders Binh Ngo and Adam Wheeler, Andrew Kranstover, and Tim Bean) remain dedicated to the same ideals they've always had. From producing, recording, financing, and engineering their own releases to setting up, promoting, and booking their own shows, such as organizing benefits for regional charities, Jinxed at Twelve achieved its success by doing things for themselves and their community and in the majority of that time, they were finishing high school. The end result is over 200 shows, two East Coast tours, a slew of self-released EPs and one full length, and a growing fan base that has led to headlining shows in their hometown and the District. By 2005, the band had perfected their live show. Regardless of whether the venue consisted of a sold-out crowd or five people, the band played and delivered an intense, vivid performance, confident and understanding of each others ability.
