Artist
Born in Osceola, Arkansas, United States in 1939, Jimmy Thomas joined Ike Turner's Kings of Rhythm straight from school in 1958 over a year before they became The Ike and Tina Turner Revue. Thomas swiftly became a featured singer dancer and MC for the live Revue, as well as driver of Ike and Tina's Cadillac. After a string of singles on Sue, Sputnik, Sonja and Mirwood (including Northern Soul classic 'Where There's a Will' on the latter label) he relocated to the U.K. in 1969, where he recorded classics such as 'The Beautiful Night' (Parlophone) and the funky '(We Ain't Here Looking For) No Trouble' (Spark).
