Jimmy and the Soul Blazers (Also known as Change and Clockwork) A soul/funk/rock music cover band from Alliance,Ohio. Since 1966 they have been playing for audiences across the east coast and midwest. Signed with Kapp Records( a division of MCA Records, now Universal Music Group) in 1970 as Change and released two singles. In 1971 they called themselves The Joneses and combined their Motown and R&B with more rock songs and their own compositions. Although they were still performing as The Joneses, in 1973 they released a supposedly self-titled album of original songs and covers called Clockwork on Greene Bottle Records, a division of Famous Music.Their outstanding vocals and musicianship have kept them a regional favorite for many years. A new cover CD "It's About Time" is now available.A mixture of Motown hits with a few lesser known soul tunes, it also features the Soul Blazers' longtime cover of "With A Little Help From My Friends" by Joe Cocker, a blues tune, and a cover of The Friends of Distinction's 1969 hit "Grazin' In The Grass." A couple of the songs give some of the Blazers longer and better chances to show off not only their still-tight harmonies, but their abilities as musicians. They also have added a horn section. They have been the opening act for such artists as Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, the Ojays, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Three Dog Night, Uriah Heap, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Sly & the Family Stone, James Gang, Jr. Walker and the All Stars, Four T
