Hit by hit the Rackets conquer the German charts. «My Soul» enters the top ten. «Pre-tend», «Only You», «Black Eyes» and a hit-album follow. «Skinny Minnie» dominates the charts for 32 weeks, kicking the Beatles' «A Hard Day's Night» off number one. The Rackets tour in the UK with the Beatles, Kinks and Who. In Berlin's «Waldbühne» stadium 26'000 fans set the chairs on fire, while frenzied by the Rackets during the first Rolling Stones tour. For Jagger & Co. there wasn't much left to do that night. The Rackets appear on international TV- and radio-shows, and are followed in the German streets by fans. And the beat goes on, thanks to Jim Duncombe, «anti-star», virtuoso guitarist, singer and motor of the Rackets. He paid his dues in the late 50’s and early 60’s in the U.S. bases in England und Hamburg’s Top Ten Club along with Tony Sheridan, Klaus Voormann and Gibson Kemp. Jim established Powerplay Studios in Zurich, recording stars and sounds such as Europe’s «The Final Count Down», Trio’s «Da-Da-Da» and Chris De Burgh and many others. Jim received gold records engineering for Gianna Nannini and Udo Jürgens. In the Nineties, after 3 years en-gineering at one of Switzerland leading Indie radio stations, he moved to Nashville, commuting to Europe to play country festivals with his band «SuperCountry».
