Artist
Jim Vallance (James D. Vallance) is a musician and songwriter from Vancouver, Canada, who's mostly known for his work with Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Glass Tiger, Heart, Scorpions and Ozzy Osbourne. He is married to Rachel Paiement and they have one son; Vancouver trance DJ Jimmy Vallance. In the late 1970's Vallance joined Canadian rock band Prism as a drummer, adopting the stage name Rodney Higgs. Since he didn't like touring, he quit the band. In January 1978, he met a young Bryan Adams in a record store in Vancouver. Soon after, they started writing songs together, which resulted in Bryan Adams' first solo single (after he quit being the lead singer of Canadian pop band Sweeney Todd, were he replaced UK singer Nick Gilder). The song, "Let Me Take You Dancing", was only a minor hit in Canada, but gained significant success after being remixed by John Luongo in 1979, making it Bryan's first hit single in the US. In 1980 Jim Vallance produced Bryan Adams' debut album, which included the hit single "Hidin' From Love", written by Vallance and Adams. By 1983, when Adams released his third album "Cuts Like A Knife", Bryan started to have hits on a regular basis in the US and in 1985 Bryan broke into the European and Asian markets, with his multiplatinum rock album "Reckless". All songs on here are co-writes with Jim Vallance and include such rock classics as "Summer Of '69", "Run To You", "Heaven", "It's Only Love" (with Tina Turner), "Somebody" and "Kids Wanna Rock".
