Artist
Jim Boyes (born in Bridlington, Yorkshire, on 14 November 1945) is an English folk singer and guitarist. As well as helping to form folk music vocal groups Swan Arcade and Coope Boyes & Simpson, Boyes released a solo album in 1992 and recorded an album with artist]Belinda O'Hooley as Jim Boyes & Belinda O'Hooley. In 1970, Boyes helped form Swan Arcade, a British folk music vocal group. After Swan Arcade disbanded (in 1988), Boyes, in the early 1990s, helped form Coope Boyes & Simpson, a British vocal folk trio. Along with Boyes, the group comprised singers Barry Coope and Lester Simpson, and almost all of their music was sung entirely a capella, although they have occasionally used accordion, guitar and drums very sparingly on recordings. Their sound was rich and often featured unusual vocal harmonies. Boyes released the solo album "Out' The Blue" in 1992. In 2015, Boyes recorded an album with singer-songwriter and pianist Belinda O'Hooley as Jim Boyes & Belinda O'Hooley.
