Like a phoenix, born of the ashes of Sheepeaters, Jewel City Bastards was formed by Preston Masterson and Nigel Krofta in mid-2008 after Chris Collins moved to Maine. Eventually, Chris returned and they picked up where they left off, recycling some songs from the days of Sheepeaters while maintaining the title of Jewel City Bastards. Like many creatures of New England, JCB went into hibernation that winter, but when the Attleboro High School Battle of the Bands arrived, the dormancy of the band was ended and they enlisted the help of associate Tyler Fleming... After the AHS battle of the bands, those bastards played various shows at various venues to various crowds. They made some friends in the Enthusiastics, got used and abused by the slimy folk in Days of Reckoning, gave our pals in cest la guerre their first gig, and even rocked a middle school cafetorium! Sadly though, Tyler ultimately chose his landscaping job over Jewel City Bastards, and sold his guitar for a lawnmower. The band has since reverted to a power trio of Collins, Masterson, and Krofta.
