Jetpacks and Laser Guns mixes the grit of modern indie rock with the synthesized style of the 80s. Vocalist Michael Martinez and guitarist Al Curtis began experimenting with concepts in March 2009. Shortly after, they added bassist Vinny Macias. The band finalized in the summer of 2011 with drummer Alex Garcia, and began playing shows around Southern California. They released a self-titled EP in 2012, and an album "Human Protocol" in 2013. Eventually, Jetpacks and Laser Guns disbanded due to differences in musical direction in early 2015.
