Jesse Campbell was born in Chicago, Ill. At age 16, Jesse began singing and soon after began traveling the country with his father, Pastor W. J. Campbell. Jesse was a featured soloist on the early recordings of the Winans and Timothy Wright. In 1994, Jesse signed a recording contract with Underworld/Capitol Records. During this time, he recorded and released his first hit single, “When You Cry, I Cry,” from his debut album, Never Let You Go. He also recorded the smash hit, “Where Is The Love,” from the movie soundtrack Dead Presidents, which sold over 500,000 copies. Jesse has made many personal appearances and live performances on national television shows including, Showtime at the Apollo, Video Soul and Soul Train. During that time, in spite of being offered lucrative, secular recording contracts and opportunities to work with the hottest, most successful producers and executives, Jesse chose to give up the world and all it had to offer for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since then, God has placed the mandate of Psalmodist (One who sings Hymns) on Jesse's life; thus, the birth of "Hymns from the Heart Vol. 1 CD," currently available via jessecampbell.com. As a result of his renewed commitment, he was a featured soloist on the soundtrack of Stephen Spielberg’s film, Prince of Egypt, the soundtrack of Bishop T.D.
