Jes Maybe was born July 8, 1980 in Northeast Ohio. He began playing various instruments around 8 or 9 years old. "Basically any keyboard or guitar i could find, and then i got a cheap drumset when i was 12, and around 14 i got a karaoke machine which i used as a multi-tracker, until i got a real 4 track at 15." Jes writes and records all the music himself and admittedly is not much of a perfectionist when it comes to the recording process. "it's all just whatever happens and i don't spend a whole lot of time trying to outplay myself. i like writing better than recording but most of the time i record while writing, or something like that, i get bored and just keep it moving." Recently Jes began recording in a more hi-fi format and has even revisited some of his older works. "Well i guess i stepped into the now a bit. A few of my friends had "garageband" and could whip songs together so quickly, after a tormented envious period, i broke down and got a computer, but i honestly don't have as much fun with the programs as i do with a multitrack, but the difference in quality is apparent, and unfortunately alot of people just don't get into the tape sound or understand why i would waste my time with that medium." In 2009, Holiday Records released an EP for internet download of 7 songs.
