Artist
Jeruarde Williams is a vocalist, instrumentalist, producer from Detroit, MI with deep roots in jazz, r&b, house as well as electronica music. He is the unnamed vocalist and pianist on the 1995 Cajual Records hit E.P. "Love Explosion" with Chicago's DJ Bernard Badie. On this E.P. Jeruarde performs one of the most unique and daring vocal performances in house music, tossing around well placed rhythmic scat vocals. Remixes were released the following year in 1996 with a featured mix by the "Godfather of House" Larry Heard. Today "Love Explosion" is considered a rare but sought after collectors item and is featured on numerous compilations, the latest by German Tech-House pioneer Ian Pooley on the famous Excursions mix cd released on Logic Records, U.K. 2003. 1999 brought the release of "Freaky Sexy Lover" on the Bernard Badie album "Soundtraxx"(Distance Records) which features a jazzy vocal melody (performed and composed by Jeruarde) and scat. These achievements made way for Jeruarde to become a memeber of A.S.C.A.P. in 2000 and has an affiliated publishing company called Cut-C. As an accomplished jazz singer, Jeruarde Williams won the Detroit Heineken Jazz Quest competition in 2003 with a follow up performance, recorded live, at the Ford Detroit International Jazz Festival. Today Jeruarde continues to build his catalogue of jazz, house, electronic, and experimental music with a few featured selections here on the revolutionary internet radio site Last.Fm (www.last.fm/music/Jer
