Artist
Jerry Woodard was born in Anniston, AL in 1941. He worked and recorded steadily throughout the 1950s and early 1960s, mainly as a rockabilly and rock 'n roll artist. Woodard is perhaps best remembered today for the excellent, intense deep soul cuts he made in 1967 for the Atlanta label Chant. Plagued by alcoholism throughout his career, Woodard's level of activity waned through the 1970s, until he finally succumbed to the disease in 1980, aged 39.
