Jens Laursøn Emborg (1876-1957) was a Danish composer. He studied composition, violin and organ as a private pupil of Otto Malling and Valdemar Tofte in Copenhagen. In 1912, he was studying in Dresden and Munich and in 1926 he traveled to the Anckerske scholarship to France, Italy and Germany. He was one of the 1900s most prolific composers with more than 100 opus as well as numerous youthful works the composer himself burned in 1905. The majority of his music today is totally unknown. The Taiping where Jens Laursøn Emborg worked for most of his life, was far from the capital and the musical scene. Only one of his three operas was accepted by the Royal. Theatre, but never built, and of his five symphonies scheduled Danish Concert Association only No.2 (1925).
