Artist
Jenny is a Boy began in 2005 as the solo acoustic project of Adam Coppess, originally from Evansville, IN, currently residing in Bloomington, IN. His early albums are folk-punky, mostly personal songs, stylistically indebted to such influences as The Mountain Goats and John Prine and rooted in Indiana DIY culture. Jenny is a Boy gained an official bassist by the name of Bernard Kincius in mid-2008, and the newest album, Is It a Shame? which features a full band, came out in March 2009. The Bloomington band The Proclamation was a rock band headed by Coppess which adapted several Jenny is a Boy songs along with original songs for their self-titled album on Let's Pretend Records. New information about the band can be found at the Jenny is a Boy myspace. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
