Artist
Jenny Marie also known as Mama Jean - was born in Naples, Florida and raised in Upstate New York. Her father Paul Dahnke was a musician, and his home studio is where Jenny got her first taste of songwriting and recording. On May 6, 2017, Jenny released her first collection of songs on streaming platform SoundCloud. “Don’t Mess with Mama Jean,” a standout from the collection, got some traction when Jenny was asked to perform it at BB King’s well known club, Lucille’s, in New York City. Since then, Jenny has discovered the sounds of Eartha Kitt, BB King, Billie Holiday, Erykah Badu, a well known favorite - Lana Del Rey and others. "I always try to capture an aesthetic and vision through my music, which is what i've always envisioned for myself. A lot of the times when i'm creating i'm day dreaming - whether it's an actual memory or something untouchable. I want to bring people into that." While Jenny continues to perform out, gravitating towards her roots and influences in music, she is also collaborating with musicians and producers for more releases.
