Artist
Born in a quiet little town on the outskirts of Chicago, Jeff Brown wanted to be a marine biologist when he was a child. As he grew older, he discovered that there was eight years of medical school involved, and he probably wouldn’t end up swimming with dolphins that much anyway. Fast forward a few years, and Jeff relocated to San Jose, California, where a young Jeff began to develop a love of music and a desire to learn to play the guitar. Both afforded him the support necessary to survive being a teenager. Now back in the arms of the Midwest, Jeff has deepened and developed his musical skills through a varied range of musical styles. These days, Jeff combines an earthy foundation of heartfelt acoustic folk with the driving force of a healthy love for heavy metal. Jeff claims influences from artists as widely diverse as Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, and Damien Rice to Iron Maiden, Alice in Chains, and Opeth. With a relentless performance schedule, lush acoustic arrangements, and a deceptively powerful voice, Jeff is slowly but surely becoming a recognized figure in the Chicago music circuit and beyond.
