Breaking news β as of September 2009, Jed Whitey's new album, Sex Impediment is closer to being finished. Formed in Perth, Western Australia in 1998, Jed Whitey now have members based in both Sydney and Melbourne. Known for their humor and lyrics that often straddle the line between offense and insight, the band is musically similar to acts such as full strength rock and roll bands like Zeke, New Bomb Turks or The Hellacopters. On the 7th of January, 2007, Sydney's Sunday Sun Herald newspaper said of Jed Whitey's Hooked on Spastics Single "Occasionally, an album lands on your desk that makes you think that the Taliban's ban on Western music wasn't such a bad idea"... Known to draw influences from many of rock's classic bands, Jed Whitey are currently looking to Def Leppard's for inspiration. Working with acclaimed Australian engineer, Jonboyrock (Spod, The Hard Ons and Further), on their new album, Sex Impediment, Jed Whitey are hoping to take longer to record than Hysteria.
