Jay White was born in California, but was transplanted to Texas at a very young age. His guitar training included study under greats such as Roy Robbins. Jay first recorded a 45 with a group called "The Twilighters", which included "I Need You" and "Nothing Can Bring Me Down". Jay has performed with and recorded with legends from"The Byrds" and Steppenwolf. Jay married Cynthia DeMent while on tour in Alaska. Cynthia is often included as a vocalist. After relocating back to Belton/Temple Texas area, Jay collaborated with a number of regional artists to form Jay White and "The Blues Commanders". They recorded an album of Blues with many original tracks written by Jay, "Jaywalkin",.released in the Spring of 2015.
