Jati Cheed is a British Asian artist from the Midlands. He is a talented vocalist who has been trained by Meena Kumari in classical Indian music since the age of 15. His musical skills include an expansive and versatile vocal range as well as an ability to play the keyboard, which he has been playing since the age of 10. Jati Cheed first performed live as the vocalist of a band named Aaj Kal De Mundeh. This talented vocalist has been sought after by renowned Bhangra producers such as Panjabi By Nature, GV, Bups Saggu, Ominous DJs, DJ Dips and Dipps Bhamrah. Jati Cheed’s first track, Jaan, was released on the album Realism Vol. 1. Panjabi By Nature enlisted Jati Cheed to sing Dil Mitran Da on his album Jaan Panjabi. In 2007 Jati then went on to record Chargaiye and Rumaal for Ominous DJs. In 2009 Jati sang Nach Nach for DJ Dips’ album, Stand Up Vol.1. Though Jati has been cementing his place in the Bhangra industry for some years now, his commercial successes have stormed the national and international Bhangra circuit recently. GV’s smash hit Hai Oh Rabba made Jati Cheed a household name in the UK. Bups Saggu and Jati Cheed’s Kolaveri Di (Party Mix) has been stirring up a storm on radio stations from the UK to India, from Africa to Canada and has even been picked up by the Indian Film Industry’s official site, businessofcinema.com. The latest release from Jati, Vang Chanke, from Bups Saggu’s album Redefined is a catchy, summertime track accompanied by an entertaining video.
