Born and raised in Detroit, Jason Porter has a long and vast history in the music business. It all started back in '92, when Jason Porter (a troubled drug addict, known at the time as "Shank") joined forces with "Poppa Shane", a popular rapper in Detroit's Hip Hop scene of the time (i.e. ICP, Esham, Kid Rock). Together they formed the infamous and now legendary "Mad Trauma". From 92-99, "Mad Trauma" played house parties and underground clubs, in between recording tracks at the now famous "Disc Ltd Recording Studio" (recording studio of ICP, Eminem, etc). In early '96, Mad Trauma released its first and only full length album in existence, the much sought-after "Fatally Wounded" to good reviews throughout the local Hip Hop community. The duo continued to play shows, releasing several singles, until early 99, when Jason Porter became homeless and found himself living in the back of an '83 Chevy van. Finding himself deeper into drugs and the streetlife after narrowly avoiding a lengthy prison sentence on weapons charges, Jason Porter debated an offer to move to California. Reluctantly, Jason left Mad Trauma in '99 for Cali to start a new project and pursue deals. New on the scene, Jason promoted day and night, which in turn earned him a strong fan base and hundreds of gigs. With the 2005 release of his highly anticipated solo album "Vengeance Is Mine", Jason Porter is back doing what he does best - sick Hip Hop with a dark edge.
