Artist
Dutch singer and songwriter Janne Schra (1981) was the front woman of Room Eleven (2004-2009) before embarking on a solo career as Schradinova and, after just one album under that moniker, her own name, Janne Schra. All those years she sang in English, but 2020 marked the birth of Janne & De Vogels, Schra's first Dutch-language band (although she did sing in het mothertongue before: songs based on lyrics by Vasalis and Annie M.G. Schmidt, for example). Band member of De Vogels are Tony Roe (piano), Lucas Dols (bass) and Mark van Kersbergen (drums), musicians from Schra's indie/jazz/pop band of old, Room Eleven. As Janne & De Vogels they create pop with a gentle 1920s jazz feel, inspired by people like Fats Waller. The first Janne & De Vogels singles came out in 2020. Their full-length début album, In De Regen ('In The Rain'), was released in September 2021. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
