One of Britain’s most exciting young oboists, Janey is committed to developing the oboe repertoire, and has been involved in commissioning and performing over 70 new works. Janey is a co-founder of the innovative duo, new noise, and notably she recently performed to much acclaim, at the International Double Reed Society Conference in Melbourne, Australia. As a soloist, Janey has given recital and concerto performances throughout the UK and Europe, making her Barbican Hall debut in 1998 performing the Vaughan-Williams Oboe Concerto. She has performed at festivals including; Hoxton New Music Days, Warwick and Leamington and is a regular performer at the BMIC’s Cutting Edge Series and Tour. She has collaborated with artists including Sarah Leonard, John Kenny and Chris Redgate. Janey has also worked with ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, ECAT Ensemble, Ensemble 10:10, the London Soloists Chamber Orchestra and oboe trio Pipers 3. Janey’s recording work has included sessions with Boyzone and Toploader, and in 2003 Janey co-founded NNLrecords, launching with the release of new noise’s debut album Insomniac. As an educator Janey currently teaches at Junior Trinity College of Music, Uppingham School, Perse School for boys and as a deputy at the GSMD Junior Department. With new noise Janey was ensemble in residence at the Goldsmiths College University and Radley College, and has given numerous performances and workshops
