Jane Duboc Vaquer (Belem do Para, 16/11/1950) is a Brazilian singer, composer, musician, arranger. Having worked with names such as Tom Jobim, Ivan Lins,Egberto Gismonti,Gerry Mulligan,Milton Nascimento, Djavan and Sivuca, she has appeared on more than 100 albums. Milton Nascimento and Toninho Horta composed several themes especially for her. She was awarded a scholarship to the USA when she was 17 and moved to Georgia,where she lived for six years,graduated in music and worked as a singer and musician in different venues,playing all styles from jazz to country,rock to bossa nova.She also had a hint at Advertising, getting an award for a commercial. She returned to Brazil in the 70s married to the musician Jay Anthony Vaquer, and had a son called Jay Vaquer, who is currently pursuing a career as an actor and singer. She took part on several recordings and toured with musicians such as Raul Seixas, Egberto Gismonti, Erlon Chaves Orchestra, acting as soloist, as well as backing vocal.She also recorded for several tv commercials.She performed in festivals and wrote soundtracks for theatre and movies. Jane was the singer for Brazilian progressive rock band "Bacamarte" and the records she made with them are till regarded among the best Brazilian rock records . She was also a member of Marcus Spillman’s "Rio Jazz Orchestra" performing music by Duke Ellington and other jazz musicians. She also featured in recordings by groups such as "Os Motokas" and "Os Skates". She also sang
