about

After 11 years as an active member of the successful UK band South, Jamie McDonald is striking out on his own and releasing his debut solo effort, The Head on Collider EP. A multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Jamie left his studio in North London for an isolated location in the Welsh mountains and was met with plenty of inspiration to write the new tracks. Calling upon former South band-mate Joel Cadbury (bass) as well as George Hider (guitar), Ascher Nathan (keyboards) and Sam Chappell (drums); he crafted a sound that is a cross between the Lemonheads and fellow UK rockers, The Bees with a hint of The Verve. Together with renowned producer and friend Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Kylie Minogue), Jamie McDonald anchors these thoughtful and melodic songs with a distinct pop sensibility.
