There was never a question that Jamie Lloyd would pursue a life in making music. Fronting the band Element from 1996-2003 is where Jamie learnt and honed his songwriting and performance skills but when the band decided to go their separate ways, Jamie, already well into his dance/electronica and DJing around Sydney, bought himself the tools to start making his own beats. Citing the like of Maurice Fulton, Metro Area and Herbert as major influences, Jamies music can been described as minimal electro/techno/disco/house, making great use of quirky found sounds, at times synthy and swampy with rollicking beats and basslines, all the while maintaining a great sense for space within the music. Not conforming to any one particular sound, Jamies music is a blend of organic and synthetic, making use of live instrumentals and vocals as a bit of a nod to his Live music roots, sometimes complying to a traditional song structure and at other times leaning towards the freeform. All of which make up Jamies unique style which has him hailed as one of Australias most promising electro-producing secrets. Never one for taking himself too seriously, Jamies distinctive sound is often the product of experimental sound playing in his studio in Sydney's Inner-West - solo, with friends and musicians.
