A musician and video artist, James made his name as co-founder of Blue Amazon, one of the nineties most celebrated experimental progressive dance-floor production teams, with a string of successful releases to his name including ‘No Other Love’ and the ground-breaking ‘Javelin’ LP for Sony. More recently he has worked in various guises, (including Forbidden Planet and Darcadian), gradually moving away underground club music. His interest in the authenticity of song and musical expression led him to turn his back for a while on all forms of computer trickery, concentrating instead on the development of a unique style of guitar playing and a distinctive approach to the crafting of lyrics and vocal melodies. James' new material brings together these separate threads, drawing on his solid electronic pedigree and integrating these elements with his unusual guitar work, unique quirky videos and imaginative and meaningful lyrics.
