The longtime backing unit behind Luther Allison, the James Solberg Band made their headlining debut in 1995 with See That My Grave Is Kept Clean; One of These Days followed a year later, and in 1997 the group won the W.C. Handy Award for Blues Band of the Year. L.A. Blues, a tribute to Allison recorded in the wake of the legendary bluesman's death, followed in 1998.
