Officially formed back in 2001 by the early name Jakarta Flame (without the 'S' in the back) with melodic punk concept. The band had been through several times of personnel changes , and in 2004 they decided to change the name of the band to Jakarta Flames (now with 'S' ) and carrying the cross genre of screamo with the current line-up of: Reza (vocals), Niki (guitar-vocals), Adith (guitar-vocals), Aji (bass), and Ryan (drums). in the same year they joined a compilation album entitled “The Difference Compilation Vol.1” from Broken Jaws Record featuring their first single “Ilusi" which then in 2005 they released a self-titled mini album from Lucky Records. Since 2007, Jakarta Flames have evolved, showing their maturity and advancement in composing lyrics and songs. Leaving the 'emo' concept behind without a trace, they are comfortable with their new and settled genre of hard rock. Even though they are not much seen these days, but they do still exist and rocked several gigs.
