Jacksmith is an experimental solo venture by Jackson Smith. Quote from his MySpace: "I've been writing music for a few years now, and at the moment I'm trying to recruit a few more musicians and HOPEFULLY start playin' some shows! So far all of my music has been composed and performed all by me lonesome using Logic. Even if you hear a female's voice in the recordings, that's just my voice under some heavy modulation. I'm quite interested in getting a name for myself in the music industry, so by all means download and share my music! My influences range all over the musical spectrum. I'm a fan of Nine Inch Nails, Daft Punk, The Flaming Lips, Yes, Angelspit, etc. it all depends on the mood I'm in. In general I'm really into industrial music, and yeah quite a bit of that has seeped it's way into my own music. I think my own compositions sound like an odd mix of Daft Punk and Nine Inch Nails; I enjoy having a good hard beat on top of an interesting and sometimes harsh harmony. I'm a fan of dystopic novels and such so lyrics are usually about the destruction of society as we know it, or the regression of the general public's morals/ideals/etc. I'm not the best singer in the world, but I try to get the job done."
