about

Jackie Day (real name: Jacquelene McNeely, née Baldain, born 8 Februari 1938 in Eudora, Arkansas - died 4 January 2007 in Los Angeles, California) was an American soul singer of the 1960s who released a string of singles between 1965 and 1970 to little commercial succes, until the death of frequent collaborator and producer Maxwell Davis. Her songs were later discovered by the Northern Soul crowd in the United Kingdom. She married Big Jay McNeely in 1960.
