Jackie Cornell (also spelled as Jacky Cornell) was a pseudonym that Dutch singer, Jacques Eckhardt (from The Hague, The Netherlands) used for a few years in the early 1970s. In the early 1960s Eckhardt had enjoyed success with Rockin' Sensation Boys, a rock 'n roll band generally regarded in The Netherlands as part of the 'Indorock' (rock 'n roll played by youngsters from the former Dutch East-Indies) movement. Eckhardt also played in the German band, Boots. Eckhardt starts using the Jacky/Jackie Cornell moniker in 1970. His first soulful singles are promising: 'If All Men Could Be Like Brothers' gets plenty of airplay, while 'Everyday's Torture' (a cover version of a Golden Earring original) is a modest chart hit in 1970.
