Artist
Jack Poels (born Sevenum, The Netherlands, 27 juni 1957) is a Dutch singer, musician and songwriter, best known as the frontman and main songwriter of Rowwen Hèze. Poels' work for Rowwen Hèze can be divided in two categories, both sung in the local dialect of the southernmost Dutch province of Limburg: upbeat material, heavily influenced by Tex-Mex and polka music, and more introspective and poetic singer-songwriter material. His long overdue solo albums, Blauwe Vear (March 2020) and II (February 2021), focus on the latter type. Jack Poels is also a painter. He was knighted for his contribution to the arts on 27 april 2007 and may call himself a Ridder in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau ('Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau').
