There are two artists with the name Survival: 1. Dutch Progressive Rock Group Survival (formed 1981). 2. The other Survival is a British Drum and Bass artist. (CD’s, tracks and Video’s from Jack Langevelt’s SURVIVAL are also on his page.) SURVIVAL is the Progressive / Symphonic Rock project of Dutch keyboard player and composer Jack Langevelt (05-08-1954). A huge fan of the Seventies Symphonic Rock (a.o. Trace, ELP, Ekseption, The Nice) and admirer of the deceased Dutch keyboard virtuoso Rick Van Der Linden. Survival existed as a band between 1981 and 1997, although Jack continued making music under the name Survival. In 2008 Survival arose from its ashes and released their first official album Crusader on Musea Records. This Album was composed, recorded and produced by Jack Langevelt. Presently (2013) Survival is back again in a new line up, with a new Manager (Inez van der Linden) and a new Bookings Agency. Currently, they are working on a Video and a new CD. Jack Langevelt was born on the fifth of August 1954 in Rotterdam, Holland. In his early childhood he had warm feelings for classical music ( a.o. BACH, MOZART, CHOPIN). After hearing Air (by EKSEPTION) he fell in love with the music of RICK V/D LINDEN. EKSEPTION, TRACE, THE NICE and EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER were his major influences.
