Jacinto Silva (1933- 2001) was a popular Brazilian singer and composer of côco, a traditional rythm from Northeast Brazil. Jacinto started his career early as a 8-year-old boy singing at local fairs and festivals in and around Palmeiras dos Indios, Alagoas, his hometown. Between 1962 and 2000, he recorded over 20 albums, creating a distintic version of côco called côco sincopado.
