Jaakko Ilkka Kuusisto (born 17 january 1974 Helsinki ) is a Lahti, Finland-based Finnish violinist , composer and conductor . He studied at the Sibelius Academy and Indiana University, and served as the Lahti Symphony Orchestra concert master of the years 1998 to 2012. Kuusisto, violinist has appeared in nearly all Finnish orchestras, and he has a summer festival standard guests. Abroad, he has appeared in, among other things, the Minnesota Orchestra, Belgian National Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. His their recordings include, among other things, Bach's violin concertos brother Pekka Kuusisto , as well as Rautavaara , and Aulis Sallinen's violin concertos.
